We woke up and went through the same morning routine that we have been doing for the past 36 days. Wake up at dawn, take care of our bathroom duties, pack up our packs, grab something to eat and start walking. The difference today is that it will be our last day on the Camino de Santiago trail. We are down to our last 15.5 kilometers and it is exciting and sad at the same time. We miss home very much. I can't wait to be back with my wife Joyce and Savanna will be glad to be back with her mom and friends. But leaving this wonderful country will leave a hole in our hearts too. Walking the Camino, meeting the Spanish people and making new friends along the way has been an awesome experience and we will miss it. But it was time to head out and that is what we did.
We had to take a last picture overlooking the harbor in Cee. What a beautiful town.

A beautiful piece of functuional art work along the harbor trail. The hands are actually seats that you sit on.

We passed one last church on our way out of town and I got to add one last picture to my church picture inventory.

The trail leds us through a small group of woods and across some high meadows.

It didn't take long for us to cross the hills and soon our final destination came into sight.

The views were amazing. Our pace slowed way down as we took our time walking the final couple of kilometers.

It was a lot to take in. The smell of the salt air, the sea gulls flying overhead and the white sand beaches.

We had finally made it. We were finally in Fisterra on the Cape of Finisterra. The day we set off from St. Jean Pied de Port, France seems so long ago. A lot of miles and a lot of smiles have happened since that day.

After eating some lunch and checking into where we are staying tonight, we did some exploring. Of course the first place we headed was to the beach to stick our feet in the ocean.

Savanna spent the afternoon beachcombing for shells. I enjoyed just being next to the ocean and soaking up the last of an amazing journey.

She made quite the haul. There were so many pretty shells that it is hard to not pick them up.

On the way back to where we are staying we stopped at a little place for supper. The chef cooked us up a fantastic meal of shrimp cooked in garlic and butter and french fries.

We headed back to where we are staying tonight and headed downstairs to where the wifi is. Right now we are sitting in the common area of the place and I am working on this post for the blog and Savanna is messaging on her phone. We have been smelling some yummy smells from the kitchen area. The lady that runs the place has apparently been baking for tomorrow morning. A few minutes ago she brought out some fresh baked pastries for us and asked us to turn out the lights when we go to bed and that she was going to bed now. I got a picture of her and Savanna and it really tickled her. What a fantastic place and the people here are amazing.

Well that about brings this post and our pilgrimage to a close. We still have a few more days here before we fly out but our life as pilgrims is over and starting tomorrow we are officially tourists. So until tomorrow we wish everyone Buen Camino!
