Savanna, Paula and I caught a ride back to Navarrete this morning to continue our journey down the Camino. The taxi dropped us off in the plaza in front of the church where it picked us up yesterday.

We set off down the street following the yellow arrows that mark our path. We passed a bar that was open and a group of guys started cheering for us and wishing us Buen Camino. It appeared that they had been there all night celebrating and were feeling no pain. We had our own cheering section and they all wanted us to come pose for a picture with them.

For a few minutes we had our own fan club. Amid clapping and well wishes we headed off down the street. What a way to start our hike for the day.

In the plaza we passed a couple of statues. I especially liked the one of the potter throwing a pot on the kick wheel.

As we left town we passed an old building and this little guy looked so lonesome up on the second floor. He just watched us as we went by.

As we climbed out of town we passed this old cemetary. Part of the entrance was once part of the old pilgrim hospital we passed yesterday.

Today's walk is mainly through acres and acres of vineyards. I don't know why this statue was out there among the grape vines but it was nice to find it this morning.

It was a beautiful morning for just walking and enjoying the scenery. Soon the tiny town of Vintosa peeked around the corner.

It was about 11 AM when we walked into the village of Vintosa. There are only about 160 people living there but it is the only stop between Naverrete and Najar for food and water. We stopped for a quick bite to eat and to top off our water bottles.

We could see snow on the mountains in the distance as we continued on. Rain clouds started to gather in the afternoon. We have been pretty lucky so far. We have been rained on several times but it has not lasted for long.

It was a short day for us today. We only had to  cover 17.3 kilometers to make it to our stopping point for the night. We passed through some beautiful country. It was just a nice quiet day of walking and enjoying the scenery. We made it to Najera around 2:30 pm and checked into our Pension for the night. We are right next to an old monestary. This is a nice town situated right on a river. It seems that there is a plaza around every corner and people are enjoying the Sunday afternoon.

Well it is time to see if we can find something to eat so until tomorrow we will say Buen Camino.
